PREVIEW: The 2025 National Defense Authorization Act included a section where Congress asks the Department of Defense (DoD) to examine the potential benefits of adding creatine to Meal, Ready-To-Eat rations (MRE). The House Armed Services Committee, responsible for funding and oversight of the Department of Defense (DoD) and the United States Armed Forces, requested that the Pentagon add creatine to MREs. This request requires the approval of the Senate. "A broad body of clinical research has shown that creatine can enhance muscle growth, physical performance, strength training, post-exercise recovery, and injury prevention" (Ceder, 2024).
